This qualification reflects the role of individuals who diagnose, analyse, evaluate, design and modify vehicle systems in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

• AURETX001 – Analyse and evaluate electrical and electronic faults in driveline management systems
• AURLTB002 – Analyse and evaluate faults in light vehicle braking systems
• AURLTD007 – Analyse and evaluate faults in light vehicle steering and suspension systems
• AURLTE003 – Analyse and evaluate faults in light vehicle engine and fuel systems
• AURLTQ003 – nalyse and evaluate faults in light vehicle driveline systems
• AURTNA001 – Estimate and quote automotive vehicle or machinery modifications
• AURETR034 – Develop and apply electrical system modifications
• AURAMA005 – Manage complex customers issues in an automotive workplace

Those undertaking this course are required to have completed AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency. 

Students are required to undertake upto 200 hours of supervised field placement which provides an excellent opportunity to further improve their practical job skills.

The Diploma of Automotive Technology prepares new employees or recognizes and develops existing workers who are performing advanced diagnosis and design tasks in the automotive industry. Job roles related to this qualification include
